History or Background of Award
In facilitating academically able school-leavers to come and study at Victoria,the University recognises them asNew Zealand’s scientists and scholars of the future. Scholarships will be offered to the top school-leaver applicants enrolling in any ofVictoria University’sBachelor degreeprogrammes.

Purpose of Award
To recruit high achieving undergraduatestudentstoVictoria Universityof Wellington and to support them in their studies. These scholarships will be offered to the top school-leaver applicants enrolling in anyVictoria University’sBachelor degreeprogrammes.

Selection Criteria

* Applicants should be intending to enrol as a full-time student commencing a Bachelor’s degree at Victoria University.
* Applicants with NCEA Certificates level 2 or above endorsed with Excellence. Excellence credits must be obtained in Year 11 or 12, credits gained in Year 13 can not be included. Applicants without this endorsement may be considered based on their personal circumstances. Such applications must be accompanied by a full letter of support from their School explaining their circumstances.
* Applicants with an equivalent level of achievement in an alternative qualification will also be considered. Examples of alternative qualifications considered are; IB, A levels orRudolph Steinerqualifications.
* Attention will be given to the school subjects relevant to the course of study applicants intend to pursue at University.

All offers of scholarships will be conditional upon the award recipient gaining,University Entrance.

Applicants will be notified immediately after their application has been assessed as to whether they have been selected for a scholarship.

What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?

The holding ofthe scholarshipwill be conditional upon the student being fully enrolled in a full-time, full year programme.

Scholarship recipients who do not return for the second semester will be required to partially repaythe scholarship.

Additional information
The scholarshipmay be held in conjunction with other awards, except for the Victoria Equity Scholarship , the Robert Bostock Scholarship and Victoria sports scholarships. or any other fees scholarship.
